Located in the state of Quintana Roo, Cancun is a world-renowned Mexican tourist destination thanks to its wide array of attractions. These include azure-toned beaches, archaeological sites, luxury restaurants, cultural events, and eco-parks that draw crowds of visitors from across the globe.

A vast variety of activities are available for different price ranges, with a typical individual budget ranging from 500 to over 6,000 pesos. There is plenty to do: visiting museums, dining in plazas, exploring eco-parks near the Hotel Zone, or visiting public beaches where you can bring your own food and drinks to enjoy the scenery. You can also head downtown to eat at one of the many food stalls serving everything from elotes (street corn) to marquesitas.
The Wheel (La Rueda)
This 60-meter-high Ferris wheel, which completes a rotation every 15 minutes, is located within the Hotel Zone at the La Isla Cancun Shopping Village. From the top, you can overlook the surrounding plazas, hotels, the lagoon, and the sea. For 400 pesos per person, you can combine this activity with visits to the Wax Museum, the Chocolate Museum, and the Tequila Museum—which offer tastings and explanations of their production processes—as well as entry to the colorful Mirror Maze. With your wristband, you can also add access to the Laser Shot, an obstacle-course challenge.
Public Beaches
There are free-access beaches within the Hotel Zone where you can enjoy a meal while watching the sunset. Marlin Beach, with its strong waves and pristine white sand, is an ideal spot for surfers. With its multitude of blue hues, it also offers some of the most beautiful views in the area.
Traveling to Isla Mujeres
There are many things to do in this Pueblo Mágico (Magical Town), including snorkeling, boat tours, kayaking, zip-lining over the sea, sport fishing, and more. If you simply want to relax, you can take the Ultramar ferry, which costs 450 pesos per person for a round trip. From the top deck of the ferry, you can appreciate the full expanse of the sea. This town is highly popular among visitors for its peaceful atmosphere, unique vistas, and turquoise waters.
Playa del Carmen
This international city boasts a wide range of entertainment options, including live music venues, pubs, and nightclubs. Fifth Avenue (La Quinta Avenida), famous for its nightlife and variety of shopping centers, is another popular destination for visitors looking to experience the local vibe.
