Quinta Avenida (Fifth Avenue) is the vibrant heart and most popular tourist destination in Playa del Carmen. Stretching over three kilometers, it hosts a wide variety of establishments such as restaurants, bars, boutique hotels, shopping centers, and craft shops. It is the perfect place to find clothing, accessories, cosmetics, and shoes from both local and international brands.

Many travelers arrive at this destination after exploring other regions of the country; if you are planning your arrival from central or northern Mexico, purchasing bus tickets in Mexico is the most practical option. The main bus terminal (ADO) is located right where this famous avenue begins, perfectly connecting with routes such as CDMX to San Luis Potosà or other journeys within the Riviera Maya.
Since bicycles, skateboards, and other motorized vehicles are prohibited on Quinta Avenida, we advise you to wear comfortable shoes so you can stroll along and enjoy the experience to the fullest.
Must-See Attractions Along the Route
The Playa del Carmen pier, where passengers board ferries to Cozumel every half hour, is located very close to the start of this route. Just steps away is Parque Fundadores, situated at the intersection with Juárez Avenue.
